| Suspect in Multiple Shootings Arrested

Garland Police have in custody a 22 year old male they believe is responsible for six shootings that started Sunday afternoon in Garland and expanded into Mesquite, Richardson and Plano over a three day period.
Garland, Mesquite and Richardson Police saturated an area on the Garland, Richardson and Plano boarders Tuesday afternoon in an effort to locate the shooter who had been shooting at occupied vehicles at various intersections along with one possible shooting on IH 635.
Early Tuesday evening the suspect struck again on George Bush Turnpike in Plano on the Richardson boarder. Police verified from witness accounts the shots were fired from a black 92-98 Honda Prelude with an oversized chrome exhaust.
At 9:05 p.m. Tuesday night a black Honda Prelude pulled into the parking lot of a Garland restaurant located in the 4500 block of West Walnut, only a ½ block from one of the shootings that occurred on Sunday. According to witnesses the driver stopped the car, got out, walked several steps towards the restaurant, pointed a pistol toward the west wall and fired two rounds into the wall just below the windows. He then turned, walked back to the Honda, got in and drove away. The bullets did not penetrate the restaurant wall and no one was injured.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. a Garland Police Officer spotted a black Honda Prelude on Lawler and Yale, approximately ½ mile from the restaurant shooting. He made a traffic stop on the vehicle and the male driver matched the description of the person who had shot at the restaurant. He was taken into custody without incident. A pistol was found inside the car believed to be the weapon used in the shootings.
The man is being held in the Garland Jail and is facing charges for the Garland offenses of; 2 counts-Aggravated Assault-Deadly Weapon, 2 counts-Endangering a Child, 1- Deadly Conduct. Bond has not been set at this time.
