The Narcotics Section conducts both overt and covert investigations into the trafficking, manufacturing and distribution of illicit drugs in the City of Garland.  The section provides narcotics transportation interdiction on the major thoroughfares and highways in the city, as well as responds timely to neighborhood narcotics complaints. 
 
The section utilizes undercover investigators, surveillance and many other avenues of investigation to impact both the supply and demand for illicit drugs in the city.  The section has a uniformed Narcotics Interdiction Unit and an undercover Narcotics Investigations Unit. 
 
The most frequently encountered illicit drugs in the city are marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, amphetamine, heroine and ecstasy.  In addition, the section investigates incidents of prescription fraud in area doctor’s offices and pharmacies.   Anonymous complaints regarding narcotics activity can be reported by calling 972.205.2098.
