Garland Police responded to a call of a man shot and bleeding in front of a restaurant in the 900 block of Centerville Road on May 7, 2007, just after 9:00 pm. When police arrived, they located the wounded man, who is the manager of the Music Store, just around the corner in the 1300 block of Market Place. The victim, a 45 year-old man from Garland, said he had just been robbed, and during a struggle with the hijacker, he was shot. Garland Fire Paramedics transferred the store manager to Baylor Hospital of Dallas where he is listed in stable condition from a gun shot wound to the abdomen area. Police have obtained video from the store's surveillance system that shows a man entering the store shortly after 9:00 pm. He was dressed in a blue windbreaker, white shirt, dark pants and had on a hooded mask. He came in with a drawn pistol and began pointing it toward the store manager. A struggle between the two ensued almost immediately, and then the two left out of camera view toward the back of the store. It appears that, while at the back of the store, is when the manager was shot. He managed to get out the back door of the store and went for help at the nearby restaurant. The video then shows the hijacker take two electronic key boards and leave through the front door. At this time, police are seeking the publics help in trying to identify this robbery suspect. Anyone having information related to this robbery is asked to call the Garland Police Department CrimeStopper Tips-Line at 972-272-8477.
