Garland Police responded to a disturbance call at a parking lot in the 4500 block of West Walnut on May 13, 2007, just after 1:30 am. When they arrived, there were only a few people in the area and they stated a large group of men had just been there causing a disturbance, when one man pulled a gun and shot another man. They said the wounded man had been loaded into a private car and driven away. A short time later, police received a call from Baylor Hospital of Garland stating they had just received a male gunshot victim. The victim, a 28 year-old Dallas man, was the one who had been shot on Walnut. He died some two hours later after arriving at the hospital. Garland police detectives have worked throughout the day trying to notify next-of-kin of the slain man. Detectives are continuing to follow up on possible leads in an effort to identify the shooter, along with a motive for the shooting.
