Missing Man Found Buried in Back Yard

October 19, 2007 - Garland, Texas -- Garland Police Detectives with the assistance of an FBI Evidence Response Team believe they uncovered the body of Michael Allen Giles buried in the back yard of 5205 Wood Creek Lane today.  Formal identification of the body along with possible cause of death will be determined by the Dallas County Medical Examiners office.  The back yard where Michael’s body was found use to belong to him before it went into foreclosure after his disappearance.

Today while investigators were digging and finding the body of Michael Giles, two Garland Detectives were also conducting an investigation into a possible suspect who lives in Detroit Michigan.  When Michael’s body was officially discovered this afternoon Garland Police were able to obtain a murder warrant for 35 year old Kwaneta Yatrice Harris in connection with the murder of Michael Harris.  Shortly after the murder warrant was signed Garland Detectives along with Detroit Police took Kwaneta into custody in Detroit for murder without incident.

Police Detectives are continuing their investigation as to the exact relationship between Giles and Harris, the motive for Giles’ murder, along other details to finalize their investigation.

Police are also working on the extradition of Kwaneta Harris back to Dallas so she can formally face charges in the murder case.
