Garland Police responded to the 3500 block of Galaxie Drive just after 10:30 pm last night to the report of a child being run over.  When Police and Fire Paramedics arrived they found 2½ year old Marvin Segovia lying in the driveway of his residence, an apparent victim of being run over.
 
Police were told that Marvin’s mother, Catoya Segovia, was returning home from the grocery store and turned into the driveway not realizing her husband had taken their two small children outside and was lying on the driveway with them to look up at the stars.  Apparently while laying there Mr. Segovia dozed off and when his wife returned he did not hear her turning into the driveway.  Ms. Segovia did not see them lying there and her Chevrolet Tahoe drove over Marvin.  He was transported to Baylor Hospital of Garland where he died of his injuries.
 
So far from evidence gathered at the scene, Traffic Investigators believe at this time this is purely a tragic accident.
