Police Seize 400 Pounds of Marihuana
Garland Narcotics Investigators, acting on a tip, seized just over 400 pounds of marihuana Monday, January 15, 2007, in the 800 block of Curtis Drive. They found part of the stash in a freezer and the rest secreted inside a van ready for transport. Police also discovered several guns inside the residence that included one rifle where the barrel had been cut off for close range firing. Thirty-five year-old Jesus Garcia Silva was arrested and faces two felony charges of, Possession of Marihuana 50 Pounds less than 2000 Pounds, and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. Silva is now in Dallas County Jail.
