The City of Garland hosted a Community Visioning Workshop and Open House. “Visioning” is a term used to describe a strategic planning process that develops an image of what a community would like to be in the future.  The workshop was a forum where residents, property owners, and community leaders gathered together to share thoughts and ideas on the questions:  What do you want your community to be like in 2030?  How can we get there?

At the workshop, participants shared their ideas, hopes and concerns with other people who care about Garland. Together, they created vision statements for our community’s future. This interactive session was designed so participants could learn about many issues affecting Garland’s future and share their suggestions on how to address these concerns.

For those who could not attend the workshop, the City of Garland also hosted a Open House session in the afternoon. Members of the City staff and consultant team were on hand to share information and continue to hear ideas about Garland's future.
